Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Half Girlfriend has been receiving positive response from the audience. The audience review suggests that it is a good movie with a balanced mix of romance and emotion.
Directed by Mohit Suri, Half Girlfriend is an official adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel by the same name. Arjun as Madhav Jha plays the character of a guy from Bihar, who is pretty good looking but a big time loser when it comes to speaking in English.
On the other side, Shraddha as Riya Somani is a smart city girl and belongs to a well-to-do family. The story of Half Girlfriend revolves around these two characters, who despite being quite different, fall in love with each other. However, their love story faces a lot of hurdles due to the differences and takes a tragic turn.

The audience opine that Arjun and Shraddha as a simple desi boy and a fragile rich girl respectively did full justice to their roles. Many have also praised director Mohit for the film's narration. Some have even said that Half Girlfriend is the best romantic movie of the year so far.

Car jumps curb, hits pedestrians in Times Square

DEVELOPING – One person was in custody and at least one person was reportedly dead after a speeding car jumped a curb and injured several people in New York's Times Square on Thursday afternoon.
Reuters reported 10 others were injured in the incident.
An NYPD source confirmed to Fox News that an unnamed individual had been taken into custody in the incident.
Several buildings in the area were reportedly on lockdown as police swarmed the busy intersection, which is heavily populated with tourists.

Authorities have not yet said if the car was intentionally driven into a crowd or if the incident was accidental in nature.
A maroon sedan could be seen in multiple photos upended at the corner of 45th Street and Broadway.

Seth Rich, killed DNC staffer, emailed WikiLeaks?

Rod Wheeler, a former homicide detective with the Washington, D.C., force — whose face was made famous while serving as a television pundit during the O.J. Simpson trial — offered up some interesting news about the recently murdered Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich that went like this: He was “absolutely” emailing WikiLeaks.

Ruh-roh. That’s an interesting tidbit, don’t you think? Not sure if this is tin hat territory or not, but the connection is curious, at least on the surface.

Rich was shot and killed last year in what police chalked up to a likely robbery. But his death coincided with a WikiLeaks dump of DNC emails — emails that proved most embarrassing and damaging to some of the party’s leading politicos, including Hillary Clinton.

Wheeler, who was hired as a private investigator by Rich’s family to get answers into his death, said during an ET broadcast on local WTTG to show host Marina Marraco that he’s had difficulty dealing with local police and the FBI during his investigation — that officials haven’t been exactly forthcoming with the evidence. He also suggested Rich’s computer could prove a mine field of information.

“[Neither] the police department nor the FBI have been forthcoming,” Wheeler said on the show, Breitbart reported. “They haven’t been cooperating at all. I believe that the answer to solving his death lies on that computer, which I believe is either at the police department or at the FBI. I have been told both.”

Wheeler then said a source he has at the police department suggested the computer most likely indicates Rich was emailing WikiLeaks.

And on that count, here’s what he said: “I have a source inside the police department that has looked at me straight in the eye and said, ‘Rod, we were told to stand down on this case and I can’t share any information with you.’ Now that’s highly unusual for a murder investigation, especially from a police department. Again, I don’t think it comes from the chief’s office, but I do believe there is a correlation between the mayor’s office and the DNC and that is the information that’s going to come out.”

Interesting, at the least, right?

And there’s this, from Fox 5: “When we askedWheeler if his sources have told him there is information that links Rich to WikiLeaks, he said, ‘Absolutely. yeah. That’s confirmed.’ “

Kulbhushan Jadhav Case Live: Pak Says India Used World Court For 'Political Theatre'

After 18 years, India and Pakistan face-off at the United Nations' International Court of Justice at The Hague in Netherlands over the death sentence awarded to Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav by a Pakistani military court. India has challenged Pakistan's decision and said the sentence was awarded after a "vitiated" trial. India also insists that Mr Jadhav, a 46-year-old former naval officer, was abducted from Iran. Represented by senior lawyer Harish Salve, India will argue that Pakistan violated norms of the Vienna Convention as India was denied consular access to Mr Jadhav 16 times.

India has not approached the international court on any case related to Pakistan since 1971. The two countries last faced each other at the top UN court when the Indian Air Force shot down Pakistan's maritime aircraft Atlantique in the Kutch region in 1999. While Pakistan sought damages worth $60 million from India, a 16-judge bench voted 14-2 in India's favour after a four-day hearing.

The situation is grave, it is urgent, and hence approached this court at such short notice.

Kulbhushan Jadhav was allegedly arrested in Pakistan (withing Pak territory). Pakistan did not inform India of the arrest.

ISPR (Pak army media) spokesperson stated that Mr Jadhav does not have the right to consular access. We have his statements

There have been three instances:

Plausibility context in Costa Rica vs Nicaragua case; Belgium and Senegal standard of plausibility.

In Paraguay vs USA, the court decided that government of US was asked to take steps to give rights of access of Paraguan national.

In Germany vs USA, court held that execution of the German national was an irreparable damage to justice.

There are multiple legal options available to Kulbhushan Jadhav.

The execution of the death sentence cannot be done while this court is hearing the appeal. Else, it will be a violation of the Vienna Convention.

Pakistan has failed to provide a clear assurance that the execution will not be carried out.

Ambivalence is a good reason for indication of provisional measures.

Pakistan has claimed overwhelming evidence of covert/spying activities. But despite India's repeated requests, not provided a single shred of evidence or any documentation regarding the same.

India refutes charges that Mr Jadhav was involved in espionage.

Mr Jadhav was kidnapped in Iran and his confession was extracted in military captivity,

Pak Foreign Affairs spokesperson made baseless, contrived and propaganda-driven allegations against Kulbhushan Jadhav.

Charges of Pakistan lack credibility.

Throughout his incarceration in Pakistan, Mr Jadhav has been denied consular rights.

The application filed by India bases its case on Article 1 of the Convention.

Court has a reputation that it has granted consular access whenever a case was heard in military court. India asserts Pakistan has not provided consular access.

India has not been given the copy of the charges. Therefore, India is unable to comment on the allegations on Mr Jadhav.

We want appropriate legal representation for Kulbhushan Jadhav.

India bases its claims solely on Vienna Convention. It states that any arrested needs to be reported expeditiously to the relevant country.

This is a prima facie case of a violation of the Vienna convention.

Circumstances of Mr Jadhav's presence in Pakistan remain unexplained.

Innumerable requests for consular access through demarches were given to Pakistan.

The farcical nature of the trial has destroyed any credibility Pakistan has of fair train in this case.

Graver the charges, greater the need for continued adherence of Vienna Convention.

Seriousness of the case only shows that consular access is justified.

In the circumstances, I request that provisional measure be placed that Kulbhushan Jadhav is not executed and that Pakistan takes no action that violates rights of India.

Pak May Execute Kulbhushan Jadhav Before Court Decision: India

Immediate threat to Kulbhushan Jadhav of being executed by Pak even before decision of top UN court, says India

India and Pakistan are both parties of the United Nations and thereby of the Vienna Convention.

There is a bilateral agreement between India and Pak, which mentions the article 36. It can only supplement the Vienna convention, not replace it.

Pakistan is in violation of the Vienna Convention. Kulbhushan Jadhav is held without getting any consular access. He now faces execution.

Mr Jadhav has been sentenced to death by a military court in violation of rights under article 36.

Despite requests by India, Pakistan has not given any evidence or document to India.

There has been no response by Pakistan to allow Mr Jadhav's parents to visit him, despite requests.

Mr Jadhav has not got the right to get proper legal assistance and the right to consular access. There is an immediate threat to him to be executed even before a decision is passed here.

India and Pakistan are both parties of the United Nations and thereby of the Vienna Convention.

International Court of Justice:

India has asked the International Court of Justice that Pakistan take all measures necessary to ensure Kulbhushan Jadhav is not executed.

According to article 74, a request for provisional measure will have priority over all other requests.

The court will hear India until 11:30 am (local time). It will hear Pakistan from 3 to 3:30 PM today.

Parties should limit themselves to only what is relevant. They should not enter into the merits of the case than what is necessary.

Sick little boy's last miracle which is comforting his heartbroken mum after he died in her arms

It's a memory any parent would happily forego, if it meant their child could live to a happy old age.
Tragically, Ruth Scully can recall exactly what the last conversation she had with her beloved young son was.
On February 7 this year, Ruth, from Maryland, said good-bye to her boy, Nolan.

He was just four years old when he passed away.

Nolan had spent much of his short life battling Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer which he was diagnosed with in November 2015.
Yet in spite of the battle he had to navigate, Nolan's four short years were characterised by a courage, maturity and optimism which belied his young age.
However, it's not the 18 months Nolan spent fighting which is the focus of Ruth's recent, heartbreaking tribute to her son.

Instead, she has written a heartrending and raw account of Nolan's last days, and shared it on the Facebook page dedicated to her son, Nolan Strong .

Not always easy reading at times, Ruth's objective nevertheless was to put across, "how beautiful he is. How he was made of nothing but pure love."

"This may be long, but bear with me, it's agony unlike any other."

Ruth remembers the day both she and Nolan knew their journey was coming to an end.
"When I brought Nolan to the hospital for the last time, I knew there was something else wrong other than just a lingering case of C. Diff (a bacterium that can infect the bowel and cause diarrhoea).

"I just knew, and strange enough, I think he did too. He hadn't eaten or drank anything in days and was continually vomiting."

On February 1, Ruth sat down to speak with Nolan's entire team.
"When his Oncologist spoke, I saw the pure pain in her eyes.

"She had always been honest with us and fought along side of us the whole time, but his updated CT scan showed large tumours that grew compressing his bronchial tubes and heart within four weeks of his open chest surgery."

In Ruth's own words, the cancer "was spreading like wild fire" and "had become resistant to all treatment options we had tried."
There was nothing left to be done, save for make Nolan as comfortable as possible as his condition deteriorated.
It's news no parent can ever prepare themselves to face, much less explain to their child.

Yet Ruth managed to compose herself and talk to Nolan about what was going to happen.

"He was sitting in 'Mommy's Red Chair' watching YouTube on his Tablet.
"I sat down with him and put my head up against his and had the following conversation:
"Me: Poot, it hurts to breathe doesn't it
"Nolan: Well...yeah.
"Me: You're in a lot of pain aren't you, baby?
"Nolan: (looking down) Yeah.
"Me: Poot, this cancer stuff sucks. You don't have to fight anymore.
"Nolan: (Pure Happiness) I DON'T?! But I will for you Mommy!!
"Me: No Poot! Is that what you have been doing? Fighting for Mommy?
"Nolan: Well DUH!!
"Me: Nolan Ray, what is Mommy's job?
"Nolan: To keep me SAFE! (With a big grin)

"Me: Honey..I can't do that anymore here. The only way I can keep you safe is in Heaven. (My heart shattering)
"Nolan: So, I'll just go to Heaven and play until you get there! You'll come right?
"Me: Absolutely!! You can't get rid of Mommy that easy!!
"Nolan: Thank you Mommy! I'll go play with Hunter and Brylee and Henry!"

In the days which followed, Nolan mostly slept.

Ruth had to face another harrowing task, signing her son's Do Not Resuscitate order, something she describes saying, "I cannot explain to you what signing this order for your angelic son feels like.
"When he woke up we had the van packed and I had his shoes in my hand to take him home for the evening.
"We just wanted ONE more night together.
"But as he woke, he gently put his hand on mine and said 'Mommy, it's ok. Let's just stay here ok?'

"My four year-old hero was trying to make sure things were easy for me...
"So in between sleeping for the next 36 hours, we played, watched YouTube, shot Nerf Gun after Nerf Gun and smiled as many times as we could.
"An hour or so before he passed he even filled out a will!
"We lay in bed together and he sketched out how he wanted his funeral, picked his pallbearers, what he wanted people to wear, wrote down what he was leaving each of us, and even wrote down what he wanted to be remembered as - which of course was a Policeman."

Then at 9pm, Ruth had her last conversation with her son.

"I asked Nolan if I could get in the shower, as I was not allowed to leave him and Mommy had to be touching him at all times.
"He said 'Umm, OK Mommy. Have Uncle Chris come sit with me and I'll turn this way so I can see you.'

"I stood at the bathroom door, turned to him and said 'Keep looking right here, Poot, I'll be out in two seconds.'
"He smiled at me. I shut the bathroom door.
"They said the moment the bathroom door clicked he shut his eyes and went into a deep sleep, beginning the end of life passing."
"When I opened the bathroom door, his team was surrounding his bed and every head turned and looked at me with tears in their eyes.
"They said 'Ruth, he's in a deep sleep. He can't feel anything'. His respiration was extremely laboured, his right lung had collapsed and his oxygen dropped."
"I ran and jumped into bed with him and put my hand on the right side of his face.

"Then a miracle I will never forget happened.

"My angel took a breath, opened his eyes, smiled at me and said 'I love you mommy', turned his head towards me and at 11:54 pm Sgt. Rollin Nolan Scully passed away as I was singing 'You are My Sunshine' in his ear.
"He woke up out of a coma to say he loved me with a smile on his face!
"My son died a hero. He brought communities together, different occupations, made a difference in people's lives all around the world.

Ransomware

Ransomware stops you from using your PC. It holds your PC or files for "ransom". This page describes what ransomware is and what it does, and provides advice on how to prevent and recover from ransomware infections.

What does ransomware do?

There are different types of ransomware. However, all of them will prevent you from using your PC normally, and they will all ask you to do something before you can use your PC.
They can target any PC users, whether it’s a home computer, endpoints in an enterprise network, or servers used by a government agency or healthcare provider.
Ransomware can:

Prevent you from accessing Windows.
Encrypt files so you can't use them.
Stop certain apps from running (like your web browser).

Ransomware will demand that you pay money (a “ransom”) to get access to your PC or files. We have also seen them make you complete surveys.
There is no guarantee that paying the fine or doing what the ransomware tells you will give access to your PC or files again.

Details for home users

There are two types of ransomware – lockscreen ransomware and encryption ransomware.
Lockscreen ransomware shows a full-screen message that prevents you from accessing your PC or files. It says you have to pay money (a “ransom”) to get access to your PC again.
Encryption ransomware changes your files so you can’t open them. It does this by encrypting the files – see the Details for enterprises section if you’re interested in the technologies and techniques we’ve seen.
Older versions of ransom usually claim you have done something illegal with your PC, and that you are being fined by a police force or government agency.
These claims are false. It is a scare tactic designed to make you pay the money without telling anyone who might be able to restore your PC.
Newer versions encrypt the files on your PC so you can’t access them, and then simply demand money to restore your files.
Ransomware can get on your PC from nearly any source that any other malware (including viruses) can come from. This includes:

Visiting unsafe, suspicious, or fake websites.
Opening emails and email attachments from people you don’t know, or that you weren’t expecting.
Clicking on malicious or bad links in emails, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media posts, instant messenger chats, like Skype.

It can be very difficult to restore your PC after a ransomware attack – especially if it’s infected by encryption ransomware.
That’s why the best solution to ransomware is to be safe on the Internet and with emails and online chat:

Don’t click on a link on a webpage, in an email, or in a chat message unless you absolutely trust the page or sender.
If you’re ever unsure – don’t click it!
Often fake emails and webpages have bad spelling, or just look unusual. Look out for strange spellings of company names (like “PayePal” instead of “PayPal”) or unusual spaces, symbols, or punctuation (like “iTunesCustomer Service” instead of “iTunes Customer Service”).

Details for enterprises and IT professionals

The number of enterprise victims being targeted by ransomware is increasing. Usually, the attackers specifically research and target a victim (similar to whale-phishing or spear-phishing – and these in fact may be techniques used to gain access to the network).

The sensitive files are encrypted, and large amounts of money are demanded to restore the files. Generally, the attacker has a list of file extensions or folder locations that the ransomware will target for encryption.

Due to the encryption of the files, it can be practically impossible to reverse-engineer the encryption or “crack” the files without the original encryption key – which only the attackers will have access to.

The best advice for prevention is to ensure company-confidential, sensitive, or important files are securely backed up in a remote, un-connected backup or storage facility.

In some cases, third-party tools released by some security firms are able to decrypt files for some specifically ransomware families. Prevalent ransomware

Globally, ransomware continues to be a problem. In particular, we’ve seen increases in Italy and the eastern seaboard of the US.
The past six months (between December 2015 and May 2016) have seen the rise of Tescrypt globally. Crowti remains near the top of the pack, as does Brolo and FakeBsod.
Reveton has also dropped down the ladder, now at 1% of the top 10 share, down from 7% for the preceding 6 months.

For the top 10 countries with the most detections, the United States takes a full half of all detections. Italy is second, followed closely by Canada, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. After that the distribution is spread across the globe.

The greatest detections in the US were for FakeBsod, followed by Tescrypt and Brolo. Tescrypt was also prevalent in Italy.

FakeBsod uses a malicious piece of JavaScript code to lock your web browser and show a fake warning message when you visit a compromised or malicious webpage. The warning message tells you to “contact Microsoft technicians” about an “Error 333 Registry Failure of operating system – Host: Blue screen Error 0x0000000CE”. If you call the phone number in the message you will be asked to pay money to “fix” the issue.
An example of the fake warning message is shown in Figure 5:

You can regain control of your web browser without paying anything by closing the warning message using the Task Manager.
When you reopen your browser, make sure you don't click Restore previous session.
